MEDIA SERVICES

Salinger Media Services

I am an experienced communications services provider, with 2018 marking my tenth year in business offering quality media services.

My specialty is combining written communications with visual imaging. This is underscored by my professional experience in photo journalism, events, portrait, commercial and wedding photography, and is further underpinned by my standing as an Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) accredited professional photographer. The AIPP is the premier body for Australia’s working photographers and requires that I continuously improve my practice though a stringent ongoing professional development program.

You can find examples of my written communications at bretsalinger.com.au or contact me for details.

For a decade now I have provided high quality, channel-specific digital visual content for clients - everything from cpmplex printed or electronic publications to social media assets. To achieve this, I use my training and experience in graphic design via the Adobe Creative Suite to produce engaging press-ready and/or web-ready publications.

I am also an experienced video producer, working to create long-form productions or short-form video promotions. The video below was produced by me for the Reservoir Joining the Dots school transition project, and is one of several videos in the digital case studies series.

In essence, the four pillars of my media services are:

  1. Photography
  2. Written communications
  3. Video production
  4. Graphic and web design

My ability to combine written, photographic, design and video communications is a hallmark of my services and is one matched usually only by multi-people agencies, and pass on the resulting cost savings to clients. I take great pride in a commitment to lifelong learning to continuously develop my skillset for the evolving digital landscape we occupy.

Please contact me to discuss your communications needs and let me partner you in your growth.

Background

I hold post-graduate qualifications in communications through Deakin University and have prior experience as a journalist with particular interest in rural, education, social, political and features reporting for both print and digital audiences. I provide well-written, researched and timely writing coupled with proofreading and editing skills for accuracy of your organisation's communications. I also have formal media training in defamation, libel, copyright, IP, content licensing and risk management issues, which is critical in a ‘live’ communications environment such as the social media world.

Cost-effective, engaging communications strategies

I focus on the delivery of reliable, high quality services to my clients and I particularly enjoy working primarily with organisations in the not-for-profit sector whose work aligns with my values and interests.

One of the key aspects of my role as a service provider is developing and delivering cost-effective social media strategies – working with clients to plan and assess programs and implement achievable outcomes. I have the ability to deliver comprehensive, tailored analytical reports that check and calibrate messaging for enhanced audience growth and engagement. I also enjoy building stakeholder capacity which includes delivering training and professional development days with a particular focus on photography and writing.
